Many animals have hidden talents and powers that help them survive. Learn about superheroes of the animal world that can disappear by using camouflage and lift 50x their body weight. Experience the art in nature and create a nature treasure. We will seek inspiration by hiking and looking for shapes, color, and wildlife. On the first day, campers will paint a nature canvas, collect leaves, rocks, and twigs, and create a nature frame. On the second day, campers will hike, play nature games, and make a scribble stone and a shell animal. Snacks will be provided, but please bring a sack lunch and a reusable water bottle. Treasures of Nature Camp for Toddlers
There are all kinds of treasures in nature, such as rocks, gems, fossils, seashells, water, and seeds. Campers will make a treasure box and explore the Nature Play Area looking for hidden treasures. They will visit the Jewel Box Cave and pick a gem from the wall and then search the sandbox for ancient fossils and build a sandcastle. While hiking along Dold Lake, they will look for seashells. Snacks will be provided, but please bring a reusable water bottle. Insect repellent and sunscreen are optional.

Adventure Day Camp: Moss, Lichen, and Fungi 
When hiking in the forest, it is easy to notice the trees, plants, and animals, but you may overlook mosses, lichen, and fungi. These plant-like organisms look similar, but they are all quite different forms of life. Campers will learn about the characteristics of moss, lichen, and fungus and the role they play in nature, collect samples to view under a microscope, and discover a microscopic world of creatures. Other samples will be used to create jar terrariums where tiny moss and lichen worlds can be created, and where they can grow. Snacks will be provided, but please bring a sack lunch and a reusable water bottle. Insect repellent and sunscreen are optional.

There are many different things to find while exploring nature. We do not always know what made the mud mound, or left scat on the ground, or chewed on a twig, or made a footprint in the sand. Campers will make a journal and then hike the trails and explore the woods and wetlands. They will write about what they find, create a story about something they experienced, and share it with the other campers. Snacks will be provided, but please bring a sack lunch and a reusable water bottle. Insect repellent and sunscreen are optional.

Animals are either an herbivore, carnivore, or omnivore. They have different teeth and mouths to help them consume their food. Campers will learn about various mammals and how they eat by looking at their skulls. There will be a comparison of insect mouth parts and a bird beak challenge. Wetlands are one of the coolest and most important habitats in Northwest Ohio. Campers will learn about wetlands, why they are important, and the plants and animals that can be found there. They will explore the Wetland Restoration Area and Aurand Run, look for animals, and experience the water. Each camper should bring clothes and closed-toed shoes that can get wet, and a towel. Adventure Night Camp 
Litzenberg Memorial Woods is very different at night. Campers will experience the mysterious world of nighttime nature. They will learn about nocturnal animals in the area, why they are nocturnal, and which ones to look for. As the sun goes down, we will take a night hike to study moths, watch bats fly out of the bat houses and listen to their calls using an echolocation detector, and view the night sky through the lens of a telescope. Snacks will be provided, but please bring a reusable water bottle, and eat dinner before you arrive. Insect repellent is optional. Please leave your flashlights at home.

Campers will receive training on basic outdoor survival skills: tying knots, building a campfire, using a compass, and making a shelter out of natural items found in the Nature Play Area. Amazing Bugs and Friends Pre-school Camp 
The lives of bugs and spiders are amazing! Such little creatures can be super strong, some can fly long distances, and others can spin beautiful webs. On the first day, we will make a butterfly out of paper plates and popsicle sticks, look for bugs and spiders at the meadow on our hike, and participate in a grasshopper relay. On the second day, we will act like ants in our “Strong like an Ant” challenge, read an insect story book, look for different bugs and spiders in the wetlands, and make a spider web craft. Snacks will be provided, but please bring a reusable water bottle. Insect repellent and sunscreen are optional.

Life on the Trail Camp 
Campers will write letters to a friend with a quill pen and ink letting them know that they are taking Hulls Trail and moving to a new location. When we reach our destination, a shelter will be built, a campfire will be made, and lunch will be cooked - hot dogs and s’mores. There will be a discussion about the many uses of trees and plants in the wild. Campers should wear closed-toed shoes, long pants, short sleeve shirts, and a hat since woodland hiking will occur most of the time. Snacks will be provided, but please bring a sack lunch for the first day and a reusable water bottle. Insect repellent and sunscreen are optional.

Woodcarving Camp 
Discover the hobby of woodcarving by carving your own Eastern Bluebird silhouette decoy in this two-day camp. On the first day, campers will learn about the basics of wood carving and the history of decoy carving. They will learn about Eastern Bluebirds and explore their habitat and start the rough carving portion of the project. On the second day, we will work on detail carving, talk about historical woodworking tools in the McKinnis Workshop, finish and paint our project, and discuss way to continue the hobby. Snacks will be provided, but please bring a sack lunch and a reusable water bottle. Insect repellent and sunscreen are optional. All carving supplies will be provided.

Farm Life History Camp 
Pioneers had plenty of work to do on the farm. In this Farm Life History Camp, campers will use their imagination and pretend that they are living on a farm during the 1840s. They will perform some of the tasks that pioneer children would have done. On the first day, we will explore the different seasonal jobs, make ink from walnuts, and do some writing later in the day, play pioneer games, and take a few interactive hikes. On the second day, we will pick chicken eggs in our chicken egg scavenger hunt, do old fashioned laundry, fetch water, and harvest our crops on time with our harvest relay. Snacks will be provided, but please bring a sack lunch and a reusable water bottle. Insect repellent and sunscreen are optional.

Campers will make a small cube that will be used during a nature toss game and when identifying life and other natural objects in the space of the cube. The cube will be used at a variety of locations throughout the park. Each camper will have a nature journal and a magnifier to help identify what they find. A game of charades will be played to help campers share one thing they found in the cube area. Snacks will be provided, but please bring a sack lunch and a reusable water bottle. They will learn about the parts of a plant and why they are important to the environment, search for different types of plants, make a leaf print handkerchief, paint a flowerpot, and plant herbs from seeds. Campers will learn the difference between an insect and a spider, comparing bugs vs insects, and look at live specimens that we catch in sweep nets from the prairie.
