DESCRIPTION:Plein Air Gatherings are an opportunity for artists to get together and paint or draw outdoors “en plein air” in Hancock County parks.  All adult artists who use any medium conducive to working outdoors are welcome.  If you are new to plein air painting or are hesitant to go out on your own\, these gatherings are a perfect opportunity to meet and work with other plein air artists.  Please join us for our 13th season! \nYou should plan to bring whatever supplies and equipment you need and dress for ground and weather conditions.   There is no fee or registration.  It is not necessary to attend every session – come when you can.  In case of rain\, the session is cancelled.  Gatherings will be held weekly on Thursdays. \nFor more information or questions\, please contact volunteer coordinator Sharon Hammer Baker at bakerartstudio@gmail.com or HPD Program Specialist Tim Kleman at tkleman@hancockparks.com.

DESCRIPTION:Join in a celebration of Northwest Ohio history. The 1847 McKinnis House and workshop will be open with costumed interpreters. There will be horse-drawn hayrides around the prairie and demonstrations by a tinsmith and blacksmith\, and by civil war re-enactors. Stop by the paddock to see live farm animals. Music by The Golden Griffon Stringtet and refreshments will be in the Activity Barn. There will be a children’s craft area. Plein air paint-out artists will be drawing\, sketching\, and painting scenes of Litzenberg Memorial Woods.
