Solar Eclipse: Open House

On April 8, Hancock County will be in the path of a total solar eclipse. Learn about this once-in-a-lifetime astronomical event for our area including what is an eclipse, why do they happen and how often, and what are the different types of eclipses. Then learn about the total eclipse that will occur on April 8, like timing the eclipse, how to safely view and photograph the eclipse, and where to watch it happen. Kids who attend can create a fun solar eclipse craft. Solar eclipse glasses and pin hole viewer cards will also be available for guests to use on the day of the eclipse.
