November is Native American Heritage Month. Come and learn about the history of Native Americans here in Ohio. First, learn about the prehistoric people of Ohio from the Paleo-Indians to the Hopewell and Fort Ancient people. Learn what archeology has discovered about their lives and view some local artifacts from the Hancock Park District’s collection of arrowheads and other ancient tools. Then learn about the historic tribes of Ohio like the Wyandotte, Ottawa, and Miami. Learn about their lives before contact with European settlers, the interaction and conflict with settlers, and their forced removal from 1818 to 1843.
