SEASONAL POSITIONS
Park Laborer
There are three Park Laborer positions available for this summer. Park Laborers get to work outside in the Hancock Park System, exercise by performing a variety of physical work, and serve the community by providing customer service in the form of park maintenance. The Park Laborer can expect to mow and trim grass and trim and pull weeds to help the parks look good, pick up litter to help protect the natural environment and its wildlife, maintain plants, shrubs, flowers, and trees to aid the beautification effort, clean restroom facilities and buildings and remove trash and recyclable material in an effort to promote facility readiness, assist park managers with park improvement projects, and perform tasks in support of programs, activities, and special events. The Hancock Park District is in the service industry. This is an opportunity for service-minded individuals and hard workers to earn money, serve the community, and spend time in the great outdoors. The position pays $13.80 an hour. The Park Laborer can work up to 480 hours (40 hours a week x 12 weeks). Benefits include a pension plan through the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS).
