The Hancock Park District provides a variety of recreational activities for visitors to enjoy the parks.  Please check the Activities Chart for available activities and locations.

Disc Golf
An 18-hole disc golf course is available at Riverbend Recreation Area. The course trailhead is located in the Big Oaks Area near Shelter #3.  Volunteer members of the Disc Golf Community Association conduct year around events and tournaments for all levels of experience.

BVC Fishing DayFishing
Loaner poles and miscellaneous fishing equipment are available through the HPD office just by asking. State fishing rules and regulations apply for all users. Fishing access located throughout the Old Mill Stream Parkway location. Check Activities Chart for locations.

Geocaching / Letter Boxing
Park visitors are welcome to participate in “Geocaching” and “Letter Boxing” activities in the Hancock Park District. Both activities are a ‘sport” with traditions, courtesies and rules appropriate for the parks.

Horseshoe Pits
Horseshoe pits are located at Riverbend Recreation Area in the Big Oaks Area. Horseshoes are available, but must be requested in advance to arrange pick-up and returning the shoes.

Playgrounds
A variety of playgrounds are located throughout the Parks System at park areas. Creative playgrounds are suitable for a range of ages. Check Activities Chart for locations.

Volleyball Courts(sand)
Three sand volleyball courts are available first come, first served at Riverbend Recreation Area. Nets are up typically April through October, weather dependant. Players must provide their own ball. Courts cannot be reserved.
